Skillfully decorated tropical garden in Bali full of exotic animals will greet you in Bali Zoo Park. Although the size of this park is quite small (only 3.5 hectare for 350 types of animals), this park is unique for its strategic location (near Guwang market, where you can buy unique souvenirs and Singapadu Gallery).

Bali Zoo Park has 200 types of mammals, 100 types of birds and 50 types of reptiles. Some of this park's prized animals are Sumatran tigers, kangaroos, camels, primates, cockatoos, hornbills, crocodiles, komodo, etc.

Getting There

From Denpasar, you can hire a car or take a taxi. It is only 20 minutes drive. Entrance fee is approximately US$10 for foreign tourists.

Where to Stay
There are various lodgings in Denpasar, from local inns to five-starred hotels.

Moving Around

Guwang market, Celuk & Singapadu (known for their intricate gold and silverware) are within walking distance. Guwang is smaller than the famous Sukawati market, but the prices are as low as merchandises sold in Sukawati if you're good in bargaining or haggling. Sukawati market is only 10 minutes walk from this park, though, so you can proceed to this market if you feel like it.

Dining Guide

This park has a five-starred quality restaurant. This restaurant serves traditional Balinese food and vegetarian dishes. Upon request, at night, you can dine while watching traditional dances on a nearby platform.

Souvenir Tips
You can buy traditional trinkets that Bali has to offer in Guwang market. From wooden keychains to elaborate carvings, Guwang market has them all. For exclusive silver and gold jewelries, visit Celuk and Singapadu. You can buy the desired products straight from the silversmiths and goldsmiths. If you have little time, however, you can visit the galleries for ready-made products.

Other Things to See or Do
Beside visiting galleries and market nearby, you can book a night to remember at the restaurant savoring succulent delicacies while watching Balinese dancers perform.
