Lampung Museum is located in Z.A. Pagar Alam Street or just 5 km from the heart city of Tanjungkarang. It has 3.233 collections compiled from prehistory, Hindu, Buddha and Islamic Age. The Museum also collects local and foreign ceramic from China. We can also find the statue from Hindu-Buddhist period, household utensils from ancient time, old tapirs clothes, ancient traditional boat, war outfits etc.
There we can see the ancient objects, remain of ceramic from China and Siam, or household utensils, which is from centuries ago. The museum is opened on Monday until Saturday. Taman budaya or art center is place for presenting the classical music and traditional dances of Lampung. It takes fifteen minutes to get there from center of town.

The state museum is relatively new building and was erected in 1977 only; however, its collection of around 2000 relics and antiquities originating from the province would make a real treat for the visitors who would come here. We can see ancient household articles, utensils, looms, hunting tools, a bridal room and some preserved animals of the region.
One of museum in Palembang city is Museum of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II. It was used as the palace of Sultan. It has an imposing semi circular staircase and was built by the Dutch in 1823, which located near Musi River. Tjong A Fie was the Chinese Major in Medan, a first millionaire in Sumatra. Up to now his name continues to recall in Medan City, although he has died during 1921. In 1870 Tjong A Fie and his older brother, Tjong Yong Hian left Moy Hian village, in Canton (China) to travel to Tanah Deli as the contract labors in the Tobacco plantation. These brothers were very good at seeing business opportunities. Once they stay in Labuhan Deli capital and opened a shop named Ban Yun Tjong. Tjong A Fie knew true the requirement for the Chinese labors and the other expatriate that just arrived in Tanah Deli, so in a short time he has become very rich. Until today the old historical building that was located in Kesawan area was Tjong A Fie family's residence, which was the first building that built in this region.

Brigade General Leo Lopulisa opened this museum on June 21 1971. This museum was located in H. Zainul Arifin Street 8, Medan. This military museum kept several historic weapons include the weapon that was utilized in the struggle for independence and the revolt in North Sumatra during 1958. In this museum we could see several motives/ painting of the revolt against the Netherlands. This museum is open on Monday - Friday (08.00 - 14.30) and closed on Saturday - Sunday.
North Sumatran museum was located approximately 4 km to the south from the center of the city, which is in HM. Joni Street 15 Medan. The Minister of Education and Culture Dr. Daoed Joesoef opened north Sumatran museum in April 1982.

THE HOUSE is a replica of the heroine Cut Nyak Dhien House, from the Aceh War. The colonial forces burned down the house but a replica was built later. This house in Lam Pisang, about 6 kilometers from Banda Aceh, now is a museum. The house is located in Lampisang Village, Lhok Nga subdistrict, Greater Aceh district. Although Lhok Nga was the area worst hit by tsunami, the Tjut Nyak Dhien House survived. The daughter of a chieftain, Tjut Nyak Dhien joined the fight against the Dutch invaders in 1875. Her first husband fell in battle, and she remarried. When her second husband also died fighting, she continued the struggle with her children. After six years in the jungle, she was captured by the Dutch and exiled to West Java where she passed away in 1906. Tjut Nyak Dhien is recognized as one of the National Warriors of Indonesia.
THERE IS a museum in Banda Aceh located near the Governor's residence. The main building of the Museum is a house built in a traditional style by the Dutch Governor Van Swart in 1914. The museum has 3 floors filled with antique weapons, gold jewelry, ceremonial costumes and household furnishings. The 'Rumah Aceh' is an excellent example of traditional architecture, built completely without nails, being held together by cord and pegs. Among the exhibits is a big clock Cakra Donya, a gift from China Emperor and brought to Aceh by the famed Admiral Cheng Ho in 1414. On the bell can be found a Chinese script, Sing Fang Niat Toeng Juut Kat, no one knows what it really means.
THIS MUSEUM is founded in November 1935 and designed by the Dutch architect Kersten. This Museum is built in traditional Javanese architecture. It exhibits weapons, leather and wooden puppets of Wayang Theater, masks, statues, textiles, curios and old Javanese gamelan instruments. The museum is situated on the northern side of the city's main square in front of the Sultan's Palace. Sonobudoyo museum is located on the north side of the North Square of Sultan's Palace. It was built in 1935 according to Javanese architecture. The architecture of gateway resembles to the entrance of the mosque in Kudus in the way to the auditorium and main Joglo structure, which are connected, while Kudus is the most ancient town in Java Island beside Kotagede. The museum has the second most complete collection of cultural artifacts after the central museum in Jakarta, like ceramic from the Neolithic Age, statues and bronze articles from the 8th, 9th and 10th century originating from Central Java temples, various kinds of masks and wayang (puppet for shadow play), a gamelan or orchestra, an ancient weapon collection, the looms and artifacts from Bali. This museum is also an interesting library that keeps various ancient books related to the Javanese culture.
